Ann McCrea was born in Hampshire and studied Fashion Design, Pattern Cutting and Embroidery at Southampton College of Art for three years acheiving Diploma in Fashion Design and Pattern cutting also City and Guilds in Embroidery and Dress Manufacture. Spent time in industry cutting patterns for C&A.

Did several workshops in Patchwork in Hampshire before moving to Borgue with her husband who was born in the area, Continued her love of all kinds of needle work and joined a Patchwork group in Castle Douglas where she still continues to learn more.
