Although
Meta Paterson has retired as a performing puppeteer, she continues to
be a member of the Kirkcudbright Crafts Association.
She specialises in animal characters but also produces humans and sets of puppets for plays, such as; Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood |
| Meta was trained as a dressmaker/ designer and started her puppet career with the Hull `Theatre for Children`. She taught puppetry at the college of Technology and eventually became an educational puppeteer, taking her shows to schools and play groups and organising work- shops for adults and children. After she moved to Kirkcudbright she organised the `Kirkcudbright Puppet Festival for many years. |
